The Sibling Rivalry Press Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

In 2010, poet Bryan Borland created Sibling Rivalry Press, an independent publishing house based in Little Rock, Arkansas, that quickly made its mark on the literary scene, putting forth work that would be recognized with a Pushcart Prize, Lambda Literary Awards, Library Journal’s “Best New Magazine,” and multiple honors from Poets & Writers Magazine, the American Library Association, and the Library of Congress, among others.

In running SRP, however, Bryan became aware of the difficulties small presses and small press authors face in securing financial support for travel, literary events, and day-to-day operations. To address these difficulties, Bryan created the Sibling Rivalry Press Foundation, an entity separate from Sibling Rivalry Press that would provide assistance to the small press world, and in particular, to the authors who make up the backbone of that world.

In order to provide that support, the mission of the Sibling Rivalry Press Foundation is defined as follows: The Sibling Rivalry Press Foundation will work to organize, support, and promote literary events, readings, conferences, and workshops; support small presses; support small press authors; preserve small press publications of historical value; and support literary projects that give people permission to be, with an emphasis on (but not exclusive to) LGBTQ-oriented projects.
